Recovery Tips

DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING ONTO THE FLOPPY DISK CONTAINING THE DATA THAT YOU HAVE JUST ACCIDENTALLY DELETED!

DO NOT SAVE THE DATA THAT YOU HAVE FOUND AND ARE TRYING TO RECOVER ONTO THE ORIGINAL FLOPPY DISK!

While saving recovered data onto the same floppy disk, where lost data was located, you can intervene in the process of recovering by overwriting table records for this and other deleted entries. It is important to save data onto a hard or removable drive.

CREATE DISK IMAGE IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH SPACE ON A HARD DRIVE!

Disk Image is a mirror of your floppy disk that is stored in a form of a file. This can be useful when you want to backup the contents of the whole floppy disk, and restore it or work with it later. Before you start recovering the deleted files, it may be a good idea to create a Disk Image for this disk, if you have enough space on your hard drive. Why? Because if you do something wrong while recovering the files (for example, recovering them onto the same disk could destroy their contents), you still will be able to recover these deleted files and folders from the Disk Image that you have wisely created.
