How to open and work with Disk Image
A Disk Image is a mirror copy of your entire floppy disk stored as a file. It may be a good idea to create a Disk Image for a floppy disk containing deleted files that you want to recover before the actual recovery.
Normally, when you start the application all images contained in the Floppy Image library are closed. If you select any image file in a tree view window you will only get message(Image closed) in the list view window.

To view the content of a floppy disk image you should first open it. There are several ways to do it:
- Run Open Image command by doing one of the following: Click the Open Image button on toolbar
, or Click File -> Open Image... - If the image that you chose is in the image library, it will be opened in the library content. If, however, this image doesn't exist in the image library it will be opened in the root folder.
- Double-click floppy image icon in the Floppy Recovery window(in case of a regular floppy disk image or compressed disk image).
- For regular and compressed floppy disk images, right-click the disk image and choose Open Image ; for self-extractor files, choose Open contained Image.
- While regular or compressed image file is selected, click Tools -> Open in order to open a regular or a compressed floppy disk.
- Regular floppy images and compressed floppy images can be opened from Windows Explorer through context menu or by double clicking their icons. New instance of Active Floppy Recovery will be started and image will be opened. The opened image will be included in the root folder of the image library.
